Conversation only shift

Provided the shift environment is safe, all shifts can continue running as a conversation shift only if troubleshooting is unsuccessful. This can be at the discretion of the volunteers and Team Leader on shift.

When to pack up & go home

  • A conversation shift only is not safe or appropriate
  • There is no power to the machines (e.g. RedARC issue)
  • There is a mechanical vehicle issue stopping the van arriving to shift (e.g. broken down van/accident)
  • The shift environment is unsafe, or running at reduced capacity would create an unsafe environment

Next Steps

  1. Ensure an Incident Report is submitted so relevant people are alerted
  2. Team Leader to notify the local leadership team
  3. Team Leaders to notify impacted teams regarding reduced operations or required shift cancellations
  4.  If applicable, Team Leader to cancel the shift or next shift in Volaby
