Waru dryer error codes

SAFETY CALLOUTS

Consider the below callouts when guiding a volunteer through the instructions

Ensure no one is in the shower area before opening rear doors to access the fuse box

When standing on the rear door step, have another volunteer to spot and maintain three points of contact at all times

KEY INFORMATION

Heading

Notes

The red/orange light on a dryer will flash consistently when there is an error

How to read the error codes

  • A solid red/orange light indicates there is no error
  • A repeating loop of flashes followed by a short break of about 4 seconds indicates there is an error
  • Count the number of flashes to determine which error is present

Example of Error Code 3:

Flashes = -

Pause between flashes (about 4 seconds) = _

- - - _ _ _ _ - - - _ _ _ _ - - - _ _ _ _ = Error code 3

Example of dryer working correctly:

___________________ = No action required

Read the code several times

Always count the number of flashes several times to ensure the code is determined accurately

Dryer reset

Most commonly a dryer error code can be promptly resolved by performing a dryer reset.

1

Perform the dryer reset procedure below.

If the dryer reset procedure does not resolve the issue, perform the next steps below.

2

Check the diesel level is above ¾  full by switching on the vehicle or checking the diesel can directly.

If it is below ¾  full, refill the diesel.

If the above steps work, perform the dryer reset procedure to clear the error.

3

Check the battery level is above 10%.

If it is below 10%, charge the batteries.

If the above steps work, perform the dryer reset procedure to clear the error.

Laundry Vans & Hybrid Vans (skip to step 11 for Laundry Pods)

4

Locate the fuse box

Note*: To access the fuse box in a laundry van, fold the driver's seat down or remove the head rest.

5

Remove the clear cover on the fuse box but keep the white plastic fuse gripper attached to the cover (if there is one available)

6

Find the YELLOW fuse labelled ‘Dryer’ and the corresponding number to the dryer with the error light.

7

When the fuse is extracted, there may be a small spark and/or clicking noise. This is perfectly normal and safe.

In one, confident motion, use the plastic fuse gripper* to extract the fuse directly outward from the fuse box. Keep the fuse in the gripper.

Note*: To use the fuse gripper, you will need to slide the gripper around the head of the fuse before being able to extract it. If missing, use fingers.
If the fuse is hard to extract, gently wiggle up & down. Try to avoid side to side movement.

8

Wait 30 seconds

9

Insert the same fuse still in your gripper back into the same fuse slot from which it was removed

10

Return to the front of the dryer to see if the light has returned to a solid red/orange light.

If the light continues to flash, you can retry the process again up to a total of five times.

If the reset procedure is unsuccessful in clearing the flashing lights, submit an incident report and discontinue use of that dryer. Make note of which dryer has the issue and what error code number was indicated in the report.

1

Attempt a fuse reset using the steps above. If unsuccessful, progress to step 2.

Note*: A fuse reset will be unlikely to resolve the error. The purpose is to validate that the error code is correct and cannot be resolved on shift.

2

Stop using the dryer and submit an incident report. Make note of which dryer has the issue and what error code number was indicated in the report.
