Article summary

As a Service Coordinator (or Service Leader in our smaller services), you help support a number of Team Leaders within your local service. Your Team Leaders are your main point of contact for their volunteer teams and any queries or concerns that they may have.

Regular catchups with your Team Leaders can help to build a positive working relationship with your teams and provide useful feedback on how their shifts are going, any support they might need or any ideas to help improve what we do to help our friends doing it tough. The following guide has some tips on catching up with your Team Leaders.

How often?

We suggest that Service Coordinators and Team Leaders chat either over the phone or in person every 4-6 weeks - this may need be more regular if the Team Leader is new to the role and needs some extra support.

Hear what they have to say

Your catch-up should be a casual chat but you can try to ask the following questions to understand how they are going in the role.

  • How are things going with the team?
  • How are you feeling about the role?
  • Is there anything I can do to support you?
  • Are there any challenges you're facing at the moment that I can help with?
  • Do you have any feedback or have you received any from your team?

Acknowledgement & Recognition

Our volunteers are the core of Orange Sky and our mission to positively connect with communities. Take the opportunity to thank the team leader and their team for their ongoing support and contribution to Orange Sky and our friends.
