Article Summary

Summary

These instructions are to be followed if a washing machine doesn't appear to have detergent being mixed in to the wash. This is commonly identified if a washing machine doesn't appear to have 'suds' in the water.

1.0 INITAL TROUBLESHOOTING

  1. Ensure that there is a sufficient amount of detergent in the detergent tank (about 1/2 full).
  2. Ensure that all detergent pumps are properly plugged in and turned on.
  3. Ensure that detergent pump tubes have been changed at scheduled service intervals. For information on how to change detergent pump tubes, refer to HOW TO CHANGE BRIGHTWELL PUMP TUBES.
  4. Run a wash through each washing machine and watch the detergent pumps for activity. If there is no activity, this means that there is an issue with the signal between the detergent pump and machine.

*NOTE: If a detergent pump cannot be turned on, ensure that all breaker switches are in the 'UP' position, and try swapping the plugs of the 2 detergent pumps to see if the issue is related to the powerpoint. If the breaker switches are in the 'UP' position and the pump still will not turn on, a replacement detergent pump will need to be sent from HQ.

2.0 ACCESS REAR OF WASHING MACHINES

If unable to resolve the issue in the initial troubleshooting phase, access to the rear of the washing machine will be required to complete the following steps:

  1. Ensure that detergent tubes to washing machines are not kinked or pinched at any point.
  2. Ensure that detergent tubes are firmly connected to the rear of machines and there are no leaks present in the system.
  3. Ensure that the black signal cables which run from the detergent pumps are firmly plugged into the washing machines.

3.0 CONTACT RICHARD JAY

If you are unable to resolve the issues in step 2.0, a Richard Jay technician will be required to inspect the washing machine and the detergent pump for faults. Refer to HOW TO BOOK A Richard Jay TECHNICIAN to raise the job with Richard Jay.
