Can I bring my children to shift with me?

Article summary

Similarly to the requirement to be over 18 to volunteer with Orange Sky all visitors to our shifts must be over 18 (not including friends).

Our shifts can sometimes be unpredictable environments which are unsuitable for minors. Although you may feel your shift is a safe environment incidents can often occur unexpectedly and having children present potentially puts them in the way of harm.

Fear not - there are opportunities throughout the year for your family and friends to be involved with Orange Sky through fundraising activities and promotions as well as presentations and events. For more information email hello@orangesky.org

The Sudsy Challenge is a great example of how everyone young and old can get involved!

What should I do if a shift visitor or volunteer brings a minor to shift?

If you are on shift and a visitor or volunteer brings a minor to shift refer them to this article and explain that it's not a safe environment for minors to be present on shift. If you don't feel comfortable having this conversation ask for your Team Leaders assistance or ring Service Support.
