What is the free code for the payment/washing system?




Note*: If a friend calls to request a free code, please provide a free code or refer them to the Orange Sky HQ phone line during business hours - Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (AEST).

The free code is not working

  1. Double check the code being entered is correct 
  2. Confirm that the code is only being used during shift hours
  3. Ask the volunteer to call the laundromat owner. Located under the ‘Service Information’ resources link. 
  4. If unable to resolve, ask the volunteer to log an incident report 

How do I use the Tangerpay Payment Kiosk? 


Note*: Tangerpay Paypoint Payment Kiosks are typically tablets fixed to the wall. Before Starting this process, ensure clothes are loaded in the machine with the door closed.

  1. Select WASH (for washing machines) or DRY (for dryers)
  2. Select the washing machine/dryer you are using 
  3. Once selected, select Proceed
  4. Check that you have selected the correct machines in the Payment Summary list and enter the free code 
  5. Click Free Start.To start, select the cycle of choice on the machine and then press Start.

Tangerpay Payment Kiosk (tablet) is not responding or is frozen

  1. Volunteers can activate the washing machines and dryers using the Tangerpay Payment via Smartphone. If not possible,
    1. Ask the volunteer to call the laundromat owner. Located under the ‘Service Information’ resources link. 
    2. If unable to resolve, ask the volunteer to log an incident report 

Payment has been processed, but the washing machine or dryer has not activated or started.

  1. Confirm the ‘Start’ button has been pressed on the washing machine or dryer after activating the washing machine/dryer via Tangerpay.
  2. Confirm the correct washing machine or dryer number(s) was selected when activating the machines via Tangerpay (each washing machine and dryer has a number sticker on it). 
  3. Check that the $ amount loaded to the machine from the Tangerpay system is the same as the cost of the wash. 
  4. Try activating the washing machine(s) or dryer(s) again with a second payment.
  5. Volunteers can activate the washing machines and dryers using the Tangerpay Payment via Smartphone. If this still does not work, 
    1. Ask the volunteer to call the laundromat owner. Located under the ‘Service Information’ resources link. 
    2. If unable to resolve, ask the volunteer to log an incident report
