How can I encourage friends to check their pockets?

Its really important for everyone's safety that our friends check their laundry before putting it in to the machines.

Some suggestions on how to approach this on shift:

• "We always want to ensure that every time you wash your clothes with Orange Sky that we don't damage any of your belongings"
• "Have you checked your pockets for tissues, coins, or cigarettes?"

Always use your best judgement. If you feel comfortable in substituting needles as an option above please do so, the safety of our volunteers is critical.
