How do I add a new volunteer to my WhatsApp group?

Purpose: these instructions are to be used by volunteer leaders adding new volunteers to their WhatsApp groups. 

1. Click the ellipsis (3 dots) in the top righthand corner of your team chat
2. Group Info
   
3. Scroll down until you see the + Add Participant (Note: if you do not see this option you are not an admin of the group and you will need to reach out to your SL, SC or HQ)
   
4. Search for the volunteer in your contacts (note you will need to add them to your phone contacts first). Tick the box next to their name and press the green tick icon to add them to the group
   

If the volunteer is in your contacts and they don't appear as an option to add to the group this is likely because they don't have WhatsApp or they have strict privacy settings. In this case you can 'Invite to group via link' option that appears just below the + Add Participant option in your group info. Copy the link to your clipboard and email or SMS the link asking the volunteer to join.
