What training do new volunteers receive?

The below provides you with a high level overview of what training a volunteer will receive when they join Orange Sky.

e-learning online training

Volunteers will complete a 1 hour e-learning module which will cover an overview of Orange Sky and shift operations. This training must be completed before the volunteers first shift.

On shift training

The Team Leader will facilitate on shift training for the volunteer. It involves two parts;

• First shift checklist
• Second shift assessment

A Team Leaders role is to support and mentor the new volunteer so they feel safe and confident on shift.

Yearly online refresher module

Each year volunteers will be required to complete an online refresher module. This will recap on key elements of running a safe shift and include any new operating procedures.
