How do I set up a shift safely?

Each shift location has a set up location included in the risk assessment, so it is super important to keep the van in the same spot each shift. If you arrive on shift and cannot park in your usual spot due to road works or building works for example please contact your Team Leader, Service Leader or Service support for further advice.

A few top tips to keep everyone safe and shift running smoothly:

• Absolute minimum of 3 volunteers on shift or 2 for laundromats.
• Ensure that the van is parked on flat ground.
• Ensure all hoses being used are covered by trip guards.
• If there are any changes to the site, please record this in the shift report (e.g. different van parking location).
