Article Summary

Can we start operating before our Service Providers arrives?

One of the many reasons we operate along side service provider partners is to provide increased safety to our volunteers in the form of safe places and safety in numbers.

Because of this, we cannot set up before the agreed operating times of the shift, or when the service provider partner is not yet open. In addition shift should not be commenced until the minimum 3 Orange Sky volunteers are in attendance.

We take volunteer safety very seriously. By not following the procedures outlined above we are creating a precedent that has the potential to put the safety of our volunteers, friends and service provider partners at risk.

What if our Service Provider closes before we are finished shift?
Similar to above, our service provider is an essential part of our receipe when it comes to shift saftety. In the event our service provider finishes early, we should first chat with them to see if they can stay longer to allow us to finish our rostered shift times.

In the event that they can't stay, volunteers must pack up and return washing items to our friends. To ensure your leadership team and HQ is aware, please complete an incident report form, so that we can follow up and review the rostered shift times.
