TROUBLESHOOTING

Issue: No water in Washing Machines or Shower

1. If connected to tap on site, ensure the tap is turned on with sufficient water pressure and there are no kinks in the clean water hose.

If the tap is on and there are no visible kinks, proceed below.

If the tap isn’t on or there is a visible kink in the hose, turn on the tap and check the water pressure or remove kink.

2.  If running off tank water on board, is the tap icon illuminated green on the control panel?

If yes, proceed below.

If no, turn on the tap button on the control panel. Proceed to turn on the shower, also try and start a wash.

3.  Ensure clean water tank level is sufficient.

To check for the amount of water on board, there will be clear tubes attached to the tank displaying the water level.

Laundry Van - rear of vehicle under the washing machines

Hybrid Van - to the right hand side of the washers and dryers. When opening the sliding door, look to the right.

4. Is the clean water level visible and above ¼ full?

If no, fill the clean water tank from a mains water supply if accessible.

If yes, check for a blown Washer & Shower Clean Pump fuse. If the fuse is blown, complete a Fuse Replacement. If the fuse is not blown, complete a Fuse Reset. Refer to  Fuse Reset and Replacement.

If there is a mains water tap on site, advise volunteer to connect to mains and continue with the shift.

If a tap is available onsite, always use this before trying to use the tank water / pumps onboard.

Step 2: Communicate next steps to volunteer

Diagnostic complete, the issue cannot be resolved on shift. You will need to either:

  1. Continue shift at reduced capacity and focus on connection with friends.
  2. Pack up and go home
  3. Submit an incident report

TROUBLESHOOTING

Issue: Clean Water hose won’t retract

  1. Whenever there is a call about a clean or waste water hose reel not retracting, being tangled in the reel, not locking or has broken in some way, we MUST communicate to the volunteer not to try and fix and to submit an incident report.

  2. If the hose is not retracting do not attempt to fix the fault. Roll up the hose as best as possible and place it inside the hose reel hatch, ensuring the hatch door can close

(When placing the hose inside the hatch, try to avoid resting the hose against the diesel heater exhaust).

The clean and waste water hoses are located in the following locations.

Laundry Van

They are both located on the driver's side of the van, the clean water hose is blue and the waste hose is green.

Hybrid van

Hoses are either located at the rear of the van inside the left hand door or on the drivers side inside the small hatch. The clean water hose is blue and the waste water hose is green.
